TERMS OF SERVICE

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By creating an account or playing Luminal, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. You must be 13 years of age or older to use Luminal.

2. ACCOUNT RULES

One account per person.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate others, or violate trademarks.
We reserve the right to rename or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

3. ACCEPTABLE USE

No cheating, exploiting, or manipulating game mechanics.
No harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior toward other players.
No attempting to disrupt the service (e.g., exploiting bugs maliciously, interfering with other players' connections).
No automated play (bots) without explicit permission.

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Luminal and its code, art, audio, and visual assets are owned by the developer. User-generated content (usernames, custom playlists) remains yours, but you grant the developer a license to display it within the game.

Luminal is an independent game inspired by light-cycle gameplay. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any trademark holder.

5. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

Luminal is provided "as is" with no uptime or availability guarantees. The developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue the game at any time without notice. Game data (leaderboards, stats, accounts) may be reset during development.

6. ACCOUNT TERMINATION

The developer may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms at their discretion. You may request account deletion at any time — see the Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Luminal is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The developer is not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or any damages arising from use of the game. Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the service.

8. FUTURE PAID FEATURES

Optional paid cosmetic features may be introduced in the future. All purchases will be final unless a refund is required by applicable law. Paid features are cosmetic only and do not provide gameplay advantages. Specific purchase terms will be added when payment functionality is introduced.

9. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Nova Scotia.

10. CHANGES TO TERMS

These terms may be updated. Continued use of Luminal after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced in-game.
